Augmented and Virtual Reality Laboratory (AVR Lab)
Research lines
XR for Cultural Heritage
The goal of this research activity is the use of Virtual and Augmented Reality technologies in Cultural Heritage in order to recreate historic sites for educational purposes, special project commissions and showcase features at visitor centres.
The power of virtual reality consists in its ability to open up places normally not accessible to people and to allow a realistic navigation in environments that normally could not be explored.
The research activity of the AVR Lab is focused on the definition of new educational fields inside the traditional research contexts and the use of augmented visualization to create a bridge between the people of the ancient culture and the modern users.
