The Project within the framework of the National Military Research Plan was created with the aim of improving the efficiency of both the training of maintenance personnel and the aircraft maintenance process. Development of a training system that, through the use of a haptic device, offers training in an extremely realistic virtual environment for the maintenance of the M345 aircraft door through the use of the Haption Virtuose 6D haptic interface.

The VR application is designed to simulate the maintenance procedures of the M345 LANDING GEAR through a realistic immersive virtual environment in which the user can practice safely and effectively. This application can be used in education and training to improve trainee skills, reducing the risks associated with maintenance in a real environment.

The procedure taken into consideration is one of the most complex, so it is useful as a test bed to be replicated even for simpler procedures that can be implemented in the future by exploiting the results obtained.
