angle-left Dissemination of the NAT Project: Arts, Environment and XR Technologies

On March 24 2026, the Sala Teatrino of the Bernardini Library (ex. Convitto Palmieri) in Lecce will host a public event presenting the outcomes of the international project “NAT – Nature, Arts and Technologies.”
The initiative is organized by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) Italia and the AVR Lab of the University of Salento’s Department of Innovation Engineering.
Supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme, the project brought together partners from Italy, Cyprus, Romania, and Georgia to explore the integration of eco-sustainable artistic practices, site-specific theatre, and extended reality (XR) technologies in dialogue with local communities.
During the event, artists, researchers, and cultural professionals will discuss the project’s activities and results, including the contribution of the AVR Lab team led by Prof. Lucio Tommaso De Paolis in developing immersive virtual and augmented reality solutions for theatrical performance.
The meeting is open to the public and aims to highlight how collaboration between the arts and advanced technologies can enhance cultural heritage and contemporary performance.
